Sarah was nominated by Yu Jean Lee, RN (ProHealth Home Care, California USA)
“ It is my privilege and honor to nominate Sarah Lee for the DAISY award. I have known Sarah for many years, and in that time, she has been a constant source of inspiration – not only for her patients and their families, but for fellow nurses like myself. Sarah’s compassion for home health nursing is genuinely exceptional. She has a unique way of connecting with her patients, always treating them with kindness, dignity, and respect. Her commitment extends beyond caring for the physical needs: she lifts her patients’ spirits, supports families through challenging times, and advocates for the best possible care. I vividly remember working with Sarah on the case of a mutual patient who faced numerous and complex health challenges. The level of care required was tremendous, involving a variety of advanced nursing skills- skills that only Sarah in our agency was equipped and willing to provide. The patient’s family was overwhelmed, but Sarah became a guiding light for them. She coordinated care, educated the family, and ensured that every aspect of the patient’s health, including emotional well-being, was addressed. As a result, the patient and family had trust and peace of mind, knowing Sarah was by their side. Sarah’s dedication goes beyond any job description. She inspires those around her to strive for excellence. In watching Sarah work, I learned what it truly means to be not just a skilled nurse, but a compassionate caregiver, and a strong patient advocate. She inspires me, personally, to become a better nurse, and I am certain she leaves a lasting impression on every life she touches. For her unwavering compassion, clinical expertise, and the remarkable difference she makes in the lives of patients and colleagues, I wholeheartedly nominate Sara Lee for the Daisy Award.”
